PUFFIN is strip-planked in Western Red Cedar, using West System epoxies and double diagonal mahogany veneers outside, resulting in a hull which is not only tremendously strong and light, but also extremely fair. She is painted cream.

She has an Iroko keel with external ballast through-bolted onto laminated floors, which with the galvanised steel centreplate, brings her weight to 1134kg.

The spars are varnished Douglas Fir, with hollowed gaff and mast to reduce weight aloft.  Most fittings are bronze or gunmetal, with galvanised iron used for the mast tabernacle on the coachroof and the stemhead fitting for the bowsprit. 

All halyards and sheets lead back to the cockpit, with the mainsail sheeting to a bronze horse over the tiller. 

PUFFIN carries 260sq ft of sail (all 1997), comprising:

• gaff mainsail
• furling jib
• staysail
• topsail

Covers include:

• mainsail cover 
• all-over winter cover (frame included)
• tiller cover

The inboard engine is a Yanmar 1 10GM - regulalarly serviced.  Stainless steel fuel tank.

• Plastimo multi log, speed and echosounder
• Plastimo compass
• Silva S10 VHF/DSC radio

Attractive practical cabin, varnished throughout, with three berths (sitting headroom) and green upholstered cushions.

Two full-length berths to port and one to starboard.  On the starboard side there is also a small galley space amidships with stove and bin beneath, utilising the centreboard case as a seat, plus porta-potti to starboard.
