Adventure Bay 56ft Power Multihull:
Adventure Bay 56ft Classic Foil assisted planing Power Catamaran for 35-45kt speeds.

Base boat price US$1.25m ex factory, subject to exchange rate and material fluctuations. Planing model preliminary estimate only, subject to final confirmation. Commissioning in your home port included. Freight costs extra.

The planing version hull is shaft or waterjet driven. Waterjets become the preferred choice when cruising speeds in the 30s are desired due to the low drag factor. They perform reasonably efficiently under 10 knots and over 20 but not as efficient as shafts in between. Best over 25-30 knots cruise to be worthwhile. The jets shallow water anchoring is a real bonus, getting in close to the nature along the shore where the calm water is and no shaft boats can venture. No appendages to worry about bending on the bottom.

The hulls are wide in the waterline offering excellent accommodation and engine access with only a very minor increase in fuel consumption. After tens of thousands of rough blue water miles in slim hull Powercats, the project development team decided the space and improved ride of wider hulls is worth it. Many boat shows with slim hulled Power catarmarans also taught lessons of what people dont like when buying a Powercat - cramped engine spaces. Good to remember for re-sale, lost value due to compromised design often well exceeds fuel cost saved.

3 cabin 6 berth accommodation is standard. 2 guest cabins each with en-suites in the hulls, 1 side with queen size island berth, the other with 2 singles. The lower single berth can be used as a desk making that an ideal office when the guest numbers are lower.

The master cabin is huge with full beam of the boat on the main level and a walkaround master berth. Also in the master is a full-length settee for afternoon naps or reading in privacy. A laptop desk or make up station tucks into the master cabin dressing room for the lady in charge. Full-length bath with shower over top for those days on shore water when a relaxing bath is just the ticket.

Full headroom in the engine rooms is achieved and internal access down easy stairs from each hull makes access in stormy weather very relaxing. Walk-around space in the engines means servicing gets done as it is convenient, an important feature for retired cruisers wishing to enjoy running their boat.

A full headroom workshop in the starboard stern and on port, a water-garage This is a separate dive/storage/laundry room with watertight door to the swim platform for easy access to snorkelling/dive gear and other water toys as desired. In the water garage a rinsing shower for after-swim rinses in privacy and out of the chilly breeze is also a good place to hang the wet-weather gear or wet suits keeping the boat tidy.

The huge galley up in the pilothouse allows meal preparation with good views of the conditions ahead, vital when cooking underway. Also well sited for easy snack preparation on long passages for the watch captain so single handed stretches are easy to manage. Entertaining or watching movies in the saloon is not interrupted by meal preparation.

Throughout the boat, the emphasis has been on making running the boat as comfortable as possible for a retired couple to operate without sacrificing safety. As boats get bigger, they need better ergonomic design so managing them is not hard work in the years of recreation.

Built to meet survey when required, and already structurally engineered by Gurit Australia to DNV and US Coastguard, MNZ and Australian survey so going in charter and getting a return on investment is already thought of.
Naval Architecture by CTMD, a Melbourne based naval architect headed by Chris Tucker. Past clients work include Oliver Marine (Now Mustang Cruisers), Warwick Yacht design and Roger Hill Power cats. Many designers were considered and boats tested from Crowther, Jutson, Roger Hill, Craig Loomes, Tennant, Teknicraft, Wright-Lawranos, Hysycat and the work of Chris Tucker was chosen. Project management is by an experienced engineering and blue water delivery team of over 15 Power catamarans built from 40-90 feet during the past 15 years.

Build quality ensured is by an established yard of 150 employees owned and operated by an experienced Taiwanese naval architect. His track record of over 500, 30-70ft boats built in the past 30 years for the US and down under ensures the cost control and experience is present. Mono-hull examples of their work are available to view.
