Since 1975, the french shipyard Garcia is specialized in aluminium centerboard 1/2 custom or custom from 13 (42') to 33 m (110'), known all over the world under the name of PASSOA, MARACUJA, SALT etc...
All of them are built by a highly qualified staff of 30 peoples, in relationship with some of the best designers.
As all of them, this Garcia 70 (a pure one off), designed by Joubert & Nivelt, has been designed as a luxurious yacht able to cross all the oceans safely and comfortably.
Using her ability to reduce her draught thanks to the daggerboard, her current owner has spent two years sailing between the islands of the Pacific, before to stop in New Zeland where the hull has been magnificiently re painted.
Kanana (meaning Paradise in Botswana) mainly offers :
-A nice design, a recent hull paint and a flush teak deck making her look like a yacht.
-A shapped daggerboard allowing to reduce her draught from 4.66 m (15'4'') to 1.30 m (4'4'').
-A double rudder
-A great facility to be handled by only one crewmember, thanks to a powerfull hydraulic system controling the lifting of the keel, the bowthruster, the windlass and the two head sail furlers.
-An huge cockpit (large dining table and a double steering wheel) well protected from seasprays.
-4 cabins, many comfort(heater, air conditionning, etc...) and entertainment equipments (large TV flat screen and smaller computer flat screen, both sliding down in woodworks when not used , video, DVD, computer, hifi system).
After coming back from New Zeland to Europe on a cargo ship, and having been fully checked up in a french yard, She is now ready to sail again anywhere.
